Member Spotlight: Vince Market

Vince Market is the chief financial officer of TruMark Financial Credit Union in suburban Philadelphia. TruMark Financial is an $825-million, community-based credit union with more than 75,000 members and seven branch offices. TruMark Financial’s community charter consists of the five-county region in and about Philadelphia—a population of 3.8 million people.

Vince joined TruMark Financial on October 19, 1987—otherwise known as “Black Monday.” He became CFO in 1989 and is responsible for accounting and financial management, facilities, security and fraud, and compliance.

He was a member of the Executive Committee of the CUNA CFO Council from 1997 through 2001 and served as Chair from 1998 through 2001.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Vince received a BS and an MBA from La Salle University. He and his wife Helena have three children, ranging in age from 11 to 16. Vince is active in the CYO program at his children’s school and is a member of the finance committee at his church. Vince also teaches finance and economics at Holy Family University.

Managing profitability and net worth with a relatively flat yield curve and extensive growth plans.

Best piece of CFO advice

Continue to expand your horizons beyond the fundamental CFO responsibilities. I have been able to learn so much about facilities, compliance, security, and fraud through the opportunities provided to me here at TruMark Financial.

Clearly it is the opportunity to meet and network with so many wonderful CFO professionals.

Hobbies/interests

I am a sports enthusiast and Eagles’ season ticket holder. I enjoy our kids’ activities, golfing, gardening, hiking, and reading.

Life goal not yet accomplished

I have been to Yosemite National Park a couple of times and have yet to climb Half Dome. Also I’d like to experience some sort of professional sports championship again in Philadelphia such as the Super Bowl, Stanley Cup, World Series, NBA Championship, anything –even a turtle race championship!

Something that always makes me laugh

The Three Stooges!

If I had an extra hour in the day . . .

I’d spend more time with my family and work in the garden.
