Managing Through Tough Times - Issues and Considerations for Small Credit Unions is the third “Financial Flash: Timely & Technical Tools for CFOs” from the CUNA CFO Council (presented by CUNA's Small CU Committee) as a free member benefit.

A "Financial Flash" is intended to be a more technical, how-to type paper that helps address an immediate need vs. white papers, which are higher level, broader in scope and somewhat more philosophical or trend oriented.

Navigating today's treacherous economic waters can be difficult. Negative trends get the attention of credit union boards and senior management. A natural reaction is to jump into action. But is that the best course? As financial results come under increasing pressure how should small credit union boards react? CUNA's Small Credit Union Committee members recently convened and discussed these questions - common themes are detailed in the Financial Flash. The short paper may be of interest to large credit unions too, the committee said.
