New Tool Released to Measure ROI for Upcoming CUNA CFO Council Conference

Credit union finance professionals can now calculate their specific return on investment for attending the 15th annual CUNA CFO Council Conference and Roundtable, May 17-20, in Las Vegas. The CUNA CFO Council has just released a “Conference ROI Calculator” spreadsheet on their website.

“The conference is not an expense, but an investment in your credit union's future,” says Peg Lamb, council treasurer and senior vice president of finance for DFCU Financial CU in Dearborn, Michigan. “The networking alone is one of the best reasons to attend. However, we also present educational sessions that not only teach new concepts and ideas but offer take-aways to attendees that can be immediately implemented upon return.”

Individuals can input expenses into the calculator, check all of the boxes of interest, and go to the bottom of the spreadsheet to find the ROI.

“These are hard facts just waiting to be shared with your CEO about attending the conference,” says Lamb.

Featured sessions include:

  • State of the Economy - Find out how the recession, the mortgage crisis, and the bailouts will ultimately affect credit union balance sheets and earnings performance
  • Liquidity Management – How Much is Enough, Where to Find More and How Much Will it Cost?
  • Effective Asset Liability Management Strategies for Volatile Markets
  • The Ethical Missteps in the 2008 Financial Crisis
  • Merger Strategies for Uncertain Times
  • Earnings Improvement Opportunities With ABC and Product Profitability Management
  • Income Generators and Expense Reducers
  • FASB Update: Accounting Issues
  • Productive Chaos: Riding the Wave of Change

Additionally, a special National Credit Union Administration session is on tap for Tuesday to discuss the corporate stabilization program and other timely topics. J. Owen Cole, director of the office of capital markets and planning for the NCUA, will update attendees on the latest regulations coming from the NCUA.
