CUNA CFO Council Scholarship Program

Each year the CUNA CFO Council offers scholarships to eligible credit union staff. The Benefits Committee, led by Steve Smith, Sharonview FCU in Fort Mill, SC, will award scholarships based on certain criteria.

Eligibility Requirements:
To be considered as a potential scholarship recipient, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Credit union must demonstrate a financial need (as determined by selection committee).
• Must be a full-time employee of your credit union.
• Maximum scholarship per year cannot exceed $2500 per credit union.
• Must be from an affiliated credit union.

Scholarships can be applied to the following programs:

• CUNA CFO Council Conference, May 17-20, 2009 in Las Vegas, NV. Applications and supporting documents must be received by April 1. Applicants will be notified of their application status no later than April 15. Scholarship recipients for the conference must stay at the hotel in which the conference takes place.
• CUNA Economics & Investments Conference – August 2-5, 2009 in San Diego, CA. Applications and supporting documents must be received by May 15. Applicants will be notified of their application status no later than May 30.
• CUNA Financial Management School, Part I or Part II - August 16-21 in Boston, MA. Applications and supporting documents must be received by May 15. Applicants will be notified of their application status no later than May 30.
• CUNA Financial Management eSchool, Part II: September 15 - October 29, 2009 – Applications and supporting documents must be received by May 15. Applicants will be notified of their application status no later than May 30.

Application Procedures:
Please include all of the following with your completed application form. Applications submitted without these attachments will be ineligible.

1. Copy of your credit union’s most recent quarterly financial statement.
2. Copy of your credit union’s most recent State/Federal examination.*
3. Copy of any Letters of Understanding, if applicable.*

*Only the section pertaining to the requirement of coursework, if that is the application reason.

Deadlines to Apply
Applications for the CFO Council conference or membership must be received by
April 1st. Applications for the Economics & Investments conference or the Financial Management School must be received by May 15th.
